Model Dimension Adjustments

In a Formula Layer, Model Dimension Adjustments allow the modeler to reference a specific case in each Case Dimension and part in each Parts Dimension as a basis for a calculation. Whenever a Line Item is referenced in a formula, the default is to reference the value of the line item based on the current selection of all dimensions. By selecting a specific element of a dimension, you will be able to specify that the value of the referenced line item be adjusted to the value for that element.

Example: When you need to perform a calculation to determine the percentage of a value of one part to the value of all parts, e.g. allocations. Create a Line Item Set that contains all the values that are to be allocated based on a Parts Dimension. The formula should contain a reference to the sum of the LISet , with a Model Dimension Adjustment for the Parts Dimension changed from Current Selection to All <name of Parts Dimension>. This instructs the software to use the sum of all parts for the value rather than the individual part.
