Updating a Data Store Import

How to Update a Data Store Import

Find Existing Data Store Import to Update

  1. Open the "Model Content" section in the Navigation Tree, expand the Data Imports group and click on the Data Store Import to update.
  2. Click 3-bar menu, choose "Actions", and select "Clear Data from Model".
  3. Click 3-bar menu, choose "Actions", and select "Reread CSV File" .

If you are not the original creator of this Data Store Import, you will not be able to read in a new CSV file to update the data. Instead, there are two options depending on which case is applicable to you:

Case 1: The original creator of this Data Store Import has already updated the data from a new CSV file. Click the "Import Data Into Model" button.
Case 2: Create a new Data Store Import. For help, see Creating a New Data Store Import.

Upload Data FIle

  1. Click the "Import CSV FIle" button and from the File Selection popup, click "Choose FIle".
  2. Navigate to the .csv file you want to import and click "Upload CSV File".
  3. Once the upload is done, click the "OK" button.

Now that the import data file has been uploaded, we need to tell the software how to read it.

Review mapping for each column in the file

See the Structure section in the "Creating New Data Store Import" topic if you need help with these details.

  1. Usually, a CSV file will contain column headers. If so, make sure that the box for “Skip First Line” is checked.
  2. In the Field Mapping table, confirm the appropriate options to inform Synario how to treat each column.
  3. In the "Identity" list, confirm that the attributes selected are the ones used in the Field Mapping table to uniquely identify data.
  4. If any changes were made, click "Save".
  5. Click "Process Raw Data" and when finished, click "OK"

Import Data into Model

See the Remaining Import-Related Settings section in the "Creating a New Data Store Import" topic if you need help with these details.

  1. Select the first period in which the data will appear in the model. By default, the period selected during the initial data store import will be selected. If a different first period is selected, the system will remember the change as the new default.
  2. Update the "FO Title Format" to reflect the desired naming convention needed for the import.
  3. Click "Import Data Into Model"
  4. Review the Data Store Import Summary and confirm that the newly imported data looks as expected.

The Data Store Import Summary displays the results of the import grouped into helpful categories. Review this summary for details on how your data was imported or to review details of any errors that were encountered. If corrections to the data in your CSV file are required, repeat the update process.
