Blank Slate Models
A blank slate model is a stripped down version of the basic model that allows a new base model to be built from scratch. A variety of new Base Libraries are created with a set of FO Types, Groups and Reports tailored to a particular industry or market segment.
Differences between Blank Slate Models and Legacy Models include:
| Legacy Models | Blank Slate Models |
|---|---|
| Legacy models use the Basic Library where all predefined FO Types, Groups, and many other objects are defined. | Blank Slate Base Libraries are built from scratch and include tailored FO Types, Groups, and Reports tailored to a specific market or industry. New models are based on the most suitable Base Library for your situation. |
| Legacy model FO Types are restricted that cannot be modified to specific groups. | Blank Slate models only use user defined FOs and groups recreating the groups and restrictions for each industry and market. |
| Data Store Exports automatically include Income Statement and Balance Sheet FOs | Data Store Exports explicitly uses FO Sets to determine which FOs are exported. |
| The secondary attribute "FO Type" specifies a generic account type of line item that the system uses to select the appropriate FO Type and Group. | The secondary attribute "FO Type" specifies an FO Type to be used in data store imports. |
| The secondary attribute "Import Group" is not used in Legacy models. | The secondary attribute "Import Group" specifies the group for storing newly created FOs. |
| Only explicit line item sets | Has implicit line item sets based on FO Types |
