Panels

The user interface (UI) allows you to organize objects A generic term referring to any part of the model that can be modified independently of another into any number of panels. Whenever you click on an object in the Organization Tree (or right-click on a Group and select View Group) it is opened in a panel on the right. New tabs are added each time you click on a new object. Panels can be split into any number of new panels by a drag and drop process.

Splitting or adding to a panel

To split a panel, click on the top panel bar. Hold your mouse button down and drag until you see a dashed outline and one of three terms:

  1. Split: splits the workspace into a new space for panels in the shaded area.
  1. Add Tab: adds this panel as a tab to the shaded, existing tabbed panel structure.
  1. Cancel Move: Performs no action with the panel.

Release the mouse button and the move will be complete.

Closing a panel

When all tabs within a panel have been closed the panel will close. When all tabs have been closed the default tab will appear so that at least one tab is available on the right.
